Paper Block

There was a time that pens didn’t touch paper;
blocks of essays, calculations, Excel graphs, revisions
stacked up, tight, creating walls without cracks.

There was a time that this paper was blank
and now, there are words, ink-stained infrastructure
with loops and twirls and meaning, if only a little.
