Winding Roads

Life is long roads we ride many times
Black rivers connecting us to memories,
Futures endeavors and the gas station.

Memory is categorized and forgotten
Roads wiped from our hard drives
Until we blink, remember we forgot.

And see those winding blacktops
Heading into forest, city, village
Toward work, school, vacation.

The packaged, pushed aside images
Rush back along the road
Bringing you closer to home.
