Scrapbooking

Glue under nails pulled off, rolled up into amber balls
Sticking to the table next to strips of magazines,
Edges of the pictures glued down for memory
For background to thoughts, ideas turned into stories
Collages of collections of eyes, ears, lips pasted down.
Snapshots and snippets of captured passing moments
Sticking to mind, to paper, to the edges of fingers
Glue balls and unintended confetti swept up
Into dust pan, garbage can, to fade, decay
Rough edges removed, bad feelings stripped away
Only the smiling faces are ribbon framed
